Worth Fighting For is A Tale of Exhaustion and Hope which draws a haunting parallel between the grueling journey of Frodo and Samwise in The Lord of the Rings with President Trump's relentless struggles in our modern world. In a pivotal scene, Frodo, broken by the Ring’s burden, holds his sword to his friend Samwise's throat, mirroring what President Trump did when threatening allies with ruinous tariffs in order to secure loyalty. And just as Frodo relented and spared his friend Samwise, President Trump gave US allies 90 days to seal their pledge of fealty. The entire purpose of Trump's exercise, as with Frodo's, is in recognition of the difficulties pursuing a greater enemy - that of The Red Dragon. Samwise Gamgee's weary yet resolute words—“there’s some good in this world, and it’s worth fighting for”—echo in the hearts of those of us who's fragile hope has flickered in the gathering gloom - but, is kindled when we remember who our Friends truly are we are filled with the light and love of christ in a manner which sustains us through division and despair. Tonight's news show explores the exhaustion of spiritual warfighter, fighting for what’s right, the toll of fractured alliances, and the promise of His hope to come that keeps us pressing forward against all obstacles and odds.
