Roger Ebert & Richard Roeper reviews "The Pledge" (I have to agree with Roeper, I found it to be a disappointment coming from Jack Nicholson in his comeback role and writer/director, Sean Penn who both collaborated with "The Crossing Guard". A much better film than this. It was boring, shallow, insufferable, insulting and the ending was dreadful! It's all about a retired cop making a pledge to go undercover to catch a killer going after little kids! Ebert just being totally generous as usual giving a Thumbs Up and praising Jack and the tone of the film!); "The Amati Girls" (Very lame!); "Panic" (Was also reviewed with Joyce Kulhawik in 2000 when it was shown at the Cannes Film Festival and wasn't release until December as limited until it was wide in January. This is the second review and both gave it a strong recommendation!) and "Snatch" (Basically a great follow-up to "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and I love this heist film with a Brilliant Cast including Brad Pitt, Jason Statham, Dennis Farina, Benicio Del Toro and Vinnie Jones. Written By: Matthew Vaughn and Directed By: Guy Ritchie. Yes, I agree with Roeper and not with Ebert.)
"Memo to the Academy": Both Ebert & Roeper each pick some Academy Award nominations to let every member vote their choices and recognition. The list are "You Can Count on Me", "Requiem for a Dream", "Best in Show", "Pollock", "The Claim", "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon", "Wonder Boys, "State and Main", "Almost Famous" and "Cast Away".
And a recap of Today's program.
