Fabless Chip Makers and Supply Chain Security Threats

This is something that even I didn't truly understand and that is the concept of Fabless Chipmakers vs actual chipmakers. Meaning the Intellectual property creators and the actual manufacturers. This has gotten so subspecialized in a way I did not perceive. The additional question this raises is that if a supply chain cybersecurity threat is introduced, where would it be introduced? We will speculate based on my understanding of the design process (which is not perfect).
