🔴 Deadly Shooting at Florida State University – April 17, 2025

An active shooter opened fire today at Florida State University’s campus in Tallahassee, near the Student Union. At least one person has died and six others are being treated at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare — one in critical condition, according to hospital officials.

A suspect is in custody. Witnesses say the shooter arrived in an orange Hummer, exited with a rifle, and began firing. One student described the attacker as a "normal college dude" in an orange T-shirt and khaki shorts. After shooting toward students, he reportedly switched to a pistol and fatally shot a woman in purple scrubs.

Videos show scenes of chaos: students being evacuated, law enforcement tending to victims, and one individual carried outside Strozier Library. Classes and university events have been canceled through the weekend.

President Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis have expressed their condolences. This tragic event echoes the 2014 shooting at the same campus.
