From Poverty to the Ring: My Journey with God and Boxing

I'm very proud of it because you know because I knew that I came up poor My mother only had a sixth grade education My dad didn't go to school And so you know I'm the first one in the family that my mama made me realize that you're the first one in the family because you did what I asked you to do The rest of them didn't do what she told them that you obeyed Well you know I did something I didn't do everything right I did something You know you fall short in the area but my mother had a heart attack when I was a kid so she was at home So she got a chance to catch me and everything You know why you get caught i said no ma'am she said it wasn't meant for you to do that this is the reason why people get caught in things because it wasn't meant for them to do it and so so i stopped and and put all the time into to boxing and uh and then once i started to see them so i I was talking about God and I know that it was God helping me to be the person that I am .........
