John Fabbricatore: Congress must authorize more funding and resources for ICE

Retired ICE Field Office Director John Fabbricatore says ICE needs Congress to allocate more funding and resources. Fabbricatore says the biggest deportation problem currently facing the agency is a lack of detention beds. “It’s not an easy process to actually deport people,” he says. “We have to work with other countries to get travel documents so these people can be removed and that takes a little bit of time. I think the men and women of ICE are doing the best that they can right now. But really, they need the resources to do the job.”
