This is a tank that I am pulling out again to do a rebed. But for this unit there is some questionable growth that is on the inside of the tank and who knows how long it has been growing?? After removing the media and under-bedding I used unscented chlorine to sanitize the tank the best I could. Once this was done I went through the rest of the process. This equipment should be periodically sanitized. There are DIY steps that are available online and more thorough processes by craftsmen in the industry. NEVER use scented chlorine if that is the solution you choose. My preference is a product (PRO) that is designed for this purpose and is not a strong oxidizing agent (future video to come). I also loosely describe other reasons to have the service addressed by a professional verse a business that is in/out and on their way. This is something that can lead to overlooking critical steps to keep the growth from sprouting and festering. Most importantly is to do the sanitization for the RO or other drinking water system. I wouldn't want to drink water with that stuff growing in the tank or filter housing(s).
