The law wasn't enough to save, but being obedient to it is what made God happy. Things haven't changed in that regard today. What has changed is that for eternity, Jesus' death on the cross has given us freedom from the burden of the law and the sacrifices therein. Through faith in Christ Jesus, we have eternal life.
