UE 5 | Puzzle Game Prototyping
Basic prototyping for a puzzle game in UE5.
This video demonstrates a line tracing laser using an emissive mesh, rotating and sliding doors, button and orb with blueprints to cause these doors to initiate their animations, transparent walls (blueprint instances) that either stop the laser or dissolve the blocks in your hands.
Reflective materials incorporate a dissolve mechanic and simulate physics with rotational dampening to make them easier to manipulate. E and Q keys are bound to rotating the reflective objects you can pick up.
No audio in the game at this time, purely a demonstration of around 15 hours of work. Cumulative total time in Unreal Engine 5, at this point, is around 250 hours.
The next part of this project will be creating individual levels and building out the puzzles.
