Curtis Loftis under fire: SC Elections shifting to Appointments?

Powerful members of the SC Senate Finance Committee are determined to try, convict and remove State Treasurer Curtis Loftis on Monday April 21st. Correction: The senate does have the ability to use this procedure to remove elected executive officers based upon a supreme court decision from a similar case in the 1850s. How this drama unfolds depends upon whether South Carolinians will expose and oppose the plan to usurp the power of the people to choose the fiscal watchdogs over our state government.
