A full-size 1911 was frozen to -65˚F and then shot with (4) different brands of firearms lubricant. The goal of the experiment was to analyze the effect of extreme cold weather on a firearm heavily-lubricated with these lubricants.

SIG Sauer 200gr V-Crown JHP was chosen for its high dependability in extreme temperatures. The metric of performance was the time required for the slide to move rearward and the time required for the slide to move fully into battery.
