Venezuela’s economic collapse and political chaos have fueled rampant gang activity and drug trafficking, with Tren de Aragua thriving in urban centers and border regions, enabling its entry into the USA under Biden. Corrupt governments allow gangs to dominate communities, yet the Venezuelan government could dismantle gangs if it chose to act. When governments fail to stop gang activity, they enable it. Similarly, the Biden administration’s lax border policies allowed this infiltration, bearing shared responsibility.
