Florida State University student Nora Marina Maloy believes her last-minute decision to skip her physics class may have saved her life by keeping her away from the student union building where a shooter opened fire, killing two people and injuring at least five on Thursday.

'I'm really grateful that...I wasn't there. But, it's just so terrible,' Nora said.

The 20-year-old suspect - identified as Phoenix Ikner - is believed to be a student at FSU, said Jason Trumbower, chief of the university's police force and is currently in hospital after being shot by police.
