The Easter Song

The Easter (Communion) Song

This song was written on an Easter Sunday around 1973 or 1975 before going to church. It seems to me that it was written in about 20-minutes, and I sang it at John and Betty Price's church in Pottery Addition, OH that beautiful Easter Sunday Morning. I remember the morning well, meeting my dear friends Joe Buchmelter and John John M. Kafton. I met the Lord in 1971 when a friend of mine, Davey Buhl witnessed to me and told about Jesus. I have never been the same since that day.

I didn't record the song until around 2000 when my new friend, the late Evangelist Stan Scott had me appear on his TV show to perform songs from my Christian CD "Don't Lean On Your Own Understanding." Stan had encouraged me to record my songs.

The songs from the CD were recorded at my audio and video production company, Technimedia Studios. The music was arranged and sequenced by the outstanding musician John Candal, long time friend, Mike Kotora, Brian Harrington, myself and other local musicians who contributed to the music.

I was inspired to edit some photos from the internet to the song on Easter Morning of 2011. Now here it is 2025, and over 50 years ago since the Lord gave me this song. Including Facebook and YouTube it has been heard and seen by over 5,000 time. I like to share it every year during the Easter season.
