This Christian Song is based on Song Of Songs 4:9. This is one of the several places in Song Of Songs where she impacts The Lover directly - not by what He observes in her by by what she does. When She looks in his face her eyes and her necklace impact him forcefully. The word is a verb form of the word 'heart'. She 'hearts' him. Later on the the book an equally strong word is used. Her eyes 'take him by storm'. But the verb form for heart does not exist anywhere else in hebrew literature - the bible or Jewish writings. So we couldn't decide whether to say she 'stole' his heart or 'ravished' his heart. So we did a parallel verse - one for her eyes and one for her necklace. We (supposing) see it as having been gifted to her. That's not in the scripture. But everything is a gift from God. Eph 2:8-10 see our good works as gifted to us. The gifts of the spirit and our character are gifted to us. So the necklace and bright jewel in it are how God adorns her - and us.
