This is one of the hardest video I’ve ever had to make… After successfully treating bacterial infections on my Panarica prismatocarpa in Spring of 2024, I was hopeful for a spectacular bloom show in 2024. But what happened next was devastating.
🌧️ What Went Wrong?
✔ 3 Flower Spikes started strong, but buds failed to open due to extreme stress (low humidity, high energy demand).
✔ 5 New Growths emerged, but winter light deprivation and rot (rhizoctonia) destroyed them.
✔ Pseudobulb Collapse – Despite my efforts, the rot spread, and my beloved orchid couldn’t recover.
💔 Key Lessons for Panarica Prismatocarpa Care:
⚠ Avoid Overstressing – Too many spikes + new growths = energy depletion.
⚠ Winter Light is CRUCIAL – Lack of sunlight weakened the orchid before rot took over.
⚠ Early Intervention – Once rot appears, act fast (but sometimes, it’s too late).
😢 Final Thoughts
This loss hurts, but I’m sharing it transparently so YOU can avoid the same mistakes. If you’ve ever lost an orchid, you’re not alone.
