Count Dracula, a figure from the darkest corners of European legends, is described in oral traditions and fragmentary chronicles as an immortal being whose existence lies beyond the laws of human nature. Its name, tied to the Carpathian mountains of Transylvania, appears in dusty archives and whispered warnings, always accompanied by reports of missing travellers, bloodless corpses and nights in which the howling of wolves mingles with inexplicable whispers. Its origin remains unclear; some sources point to a medieval prince who shed his mortality through curses or dark rituals, others speak of a demon who took on human form. His appearance is characterised by an unnatural coldness: a tall, gaunt body cloaked in black robes, his face as pale as marble, interspersed with sharp features and eyes that are said to shimmer reddish in the darkness. His hands, long-limbed and claw-like, are said to leave burn marks on the skin of those he touches. Dracula's power manifests itself in his dominion over the night; he moves silently, penetrating walls as a swirling mist, commanding wolves, rats and bats, while his influence transcends the boundaries of death. His hunger for blood is insatiable, and victims who survive his bite are transformed into will-less creatures, bound to his will until their souls are extinguished or their bodies crumble into dust. His abode, a ruined castle high in the mountains, is a labyrinth of barricaded chambers filled with coffins padded with earth from his native soil; only here can he remain in a deathlike sleep during the day, protected from the sun, whose light scorches his skin and paralyses his powers. The local population takes refuge in rituals: crosses made of hawthorn, chains of garlic bulbs, prayers that murmur in the darkness, but even these barriers only stop him temporarily. In the late 19th century, reports of its spread to Western Europe penetrated diplomatic correspondence; ships' logs document mysterious cargo shipments - crates of Transylvanian clay - while illnesses suddenly appeared in London, causing sufferers to turn pale, avoid sunlight and die tormented by nightmares. Eyewitnesses describe a shadowy figure moving up the walls of houses, crawling into bedroom windows and bending over sleeping victims as icy breath brushes the back of their necks. His pursuers, often scholars or adventurers specialising in traces of the supernatural, report strategies of deception: documents with forged seals, servants silenced by madness and traps that make rational explanations impossible. Weaknesses are revealed only reluctantly; consecrated objects, fire or the cutting of his heart with silver blades can destroy him, but his superior intelligence and ability to plant fear in the hearts of even the most determined make hunting him a deadly game. Last records tell of a chase through the Carpathians in which a troop of armed men tracked him down in his coffin, pierced his heart and severed his head - but even then, doubts remained as to whether this marked his true end or merely a phase of forced retreat. To this day, the countryside around his castle is considered cursed; peasants avoid the paths after dark, and in remote villages it is said that the wind sometimes carries voices - a murmur in a forgotten language that emanates from the woods after midnight. Dracula, whether as the last remnant of an ancient dynasty or as the incarnation of evil, remains a symbol of the boundless, uncontrollable horrors that lurk beyond the civilised order, always ready to invade the world of the living as soon as humanity's vigilance lapses. Dracula an ancient legend or the truth what do you believe. I would really appreciate a like and a subscription.
