Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks: PBM reform is tremendously important

Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-Iowa) says there’s a lot of “very entrenched” special interests when it comes to reforming pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs.) “My goal is not to end pharmacy benefit managers or the work that they do in helping to get prescriptions to people. However, it is to bring transparency to a very opaque middle area in between the pharmaceutical company that manufacturers medication and the pharmacy that dispenses those medications,” she says.
