World of Humpback Whales!

The majestic world of humpback whales. One of the most awe-inspiring and beloved whale species that frequent the shores of the USA. Humpback whales are known for their complex songs, unique tail markings, and extensive migrations. They are also known for their impressive size, with some reaching up to 60 feet in length and weighing 40 tons. Humpbacks are baleen whales, meaning they filter their food with baleen plates instead of teeth, and they primarily feed on krill, plankton, and small fish. Only male humpbacks sing, and their songs can last for hours. Humpbacks migrate long distances between their breeding and feeding grounds, with some populations traveling over 5,000 miles. Humpbacks sometimes use bubbles to trap fish and other prey, forming a net-like barrier. Humpback whales are famous for breaching and showing their tails when they dive. Humpback whales can live for 80 to 90 years. Because of the vast coastlines Atlantic, Pacific, and even Arctic in Alaska different species can be spotted depending on the season and location.
