Before beginning, I should mention that I had to stop due to being soft locked, at the very end you can see that I can not buy a shovel which results in me unable to advance any further to get any berries. This review is not complete but should be taken with some grain of salt due to me not completing the game/ main quests. I will continue to play this until I do finish the main quests which most likely will be when this bug is patched.

For now...

Graphics 4/5: I personally love the detail the Pixel Art gives. Each biome gives such unique vibes to the whole experience. However, (at least for me) FPS drops greatly on large maps. This thankfully doesn't affect gameplay for me as badly, but is noticeable probably on recording.
Playability 5/5: You know you'll be having fun when an RPG has a snappy feeling when using a controller. Everything made sense.
Music 5/5: A solid soundtrack, I love it when games like this perfect lava stages by focusing on drums more than other instruments. The other biomes soundtracks are also nice, adding to the feeling of being present in the region. The sound in general is nice and responsive.
Difficulty 3/5: It is very grindy when you hit a certain point where the enemies are 10 levels above you. While the puzzles are not difficult, there are two things that I should address. First is the pressure plate puzzle, if you push the block too far, it resets position. This is not how these puzzles should work. Ideally, if there is a wall, then the block should skate along the wall or stay still. I understand this decision if it were dropped off a cliff, but even stuff that feels like it shouldn't reset, it resets. Lastly is a bug where the moving platform completely goes off the screen, you can see it happen sometimes in my gameplay which would require me to either go into a portal to reset the biome or enter a home to reset the biome.
Personal 3/5: I love these monster capture games like Pokémon or SM (I played Persona). I like how the game does its capture style, using scrolls each with potential chances. for my gameplay, you do notice me using the worst one and capturing enemies with a 90% success rate. Games like Pokémon I believe do a better way of capturing enemies. The standard pokeball being the worst and does fail often while later pokeballs are needed to capture anything you want to get. Here, as long as the enemy is close to death, you are good. The other situation with grinding is a pain for me, especially with how low the XP gain is. And that sometimes you don't earn XP at all. I do like how linear the quests are though, something I miss in games like this. Play Gen 1 Pokémon then play Gen 5 Pokémon and you'll see what I mean. Here, its done greatly while not feeling like its holding your hand. In general, I do feel like it's worth it to get if you enjoy games like this. I do not see beginners of the genre playing this game as their first, this is most likely for those who like these games.
