“Russia tried to exploit our over-dependence by cutting us off from gas.

They tried to cause economic disruption and weaken our resolve on Ukraine. They failed.

We responded with Repower EU. We diversified our supplies. We accelerated the transition to clean energy. The share of Russian gas in our imports fell from 45% to 18%.

And, overall, we reduced coal supplies from Russia to zero. We reduced funding for Russia’s military economy and strengthened our energy security.”
