The war-torn lands between Velen and Novigrad posed more than just monstrous dangers. The Redanian army had locked down the crossings of the Pontar River, refusing passage to anyone without an official pass. Even Geralt found himself momentarily stalled.

Meanwhile, in the forests near Novigrad, a new "monster" was threatening Redanian supply wagons. However, upon investigating, Geralt discovered the truth: not a beast, but a band of Scoia'tael guerrillas had been staging the attacks. Though the witcher's code recommends neutrality, Geralt followed his own moral compass and it led to a swift and deadly judgment against the elves.

Fortunately, Geralt secured a coveted Redanian pass, granting him free passage across the Pontar at will. Whether he used this power responsibly… well, some things are better left unsaid.

Continuing his journey near Oxenfurt, Geralt’s keen hearing caught a strange, grating sound something between an off-key singer and a dying pig. Investigating further, he found the source: a wayward rock troll. Determining it a threat to nearby villagers, Geralt once again chose action over mercy.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (Polish: Wiedźmin 2: Zabójcy Królów) is a 2011 action role-playing game developed by CD Projekt Red, based on Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy novels. As a sequel to the 2007 game The Witcher, it continues the saga of Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter known as a Witcher. Released for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, OS X, and Linux, the game immerses players in a richly detailed world inspired by Polish history and Slavic mythology. By September 2014, it had sold over 8 million copies, cementing its status as both a critical and commercial success. The series' acclaim continued with the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in May 2015.
