Coach Rick Smith, one of the most successful coaches in the great state of Michigan, allowed us to record one of his Christmas Break practice sessions. This practice was extremely fast paced and to-the-point. Coach Smith’s main objective for this practice was demanding more vocal leadership & leadership-through-actions. He wanted to see & hear his veteran players “Coach-Up,” the JV players.

This uptempo practice season featured a lot of fundamental ball handling, ball security, shooting, & finishing drills - at an extremely fast pace. At the conclusion of their hoing of the fundamentals, Coach Smith put his players through a battery of full court competitive drills. The intensity was better than expected, due to this being a Christmas Break practice.
Coach Smith’s Rams then converted to preparation for their next opponent. This preparation included:
- Skeleton Offense
- Full Court Press Offense
- Breakdowns of their 131 Trap
- Full Court Scrimmaging & Game Plan Execution
