I had been a dedicated user of Logitech products, including the MX Keys Keyboard and the MX Master 3 mouse. I was happy enough with them until the mouse and then the keyboard started to become unreliable with the already limited backlighting of the MX Keys almost unusable. I looked around for a replacement and as a DaVinci Resolve user decided on the LogickeyboardTitan, designed for Mac users of that particular editing software. I selected this one because it offers both Bluetooth and USB-C connection options, has good online reviews, and has powerful always on backlighting. At around £135 it is not cheap but it does have the feel of a quality product to it.

In the box, I received the keyboard , a USB-C to USB-C combined data and charging cable, and a large, easy to read and comprehensive user guide. Build quality and presentation are both excellent and it really does have the feel of a quality piece of kit about it.

The 430 x 119 x 13 mm, 580g keyboard has a robust aluminium alloy chassis with 109 Scissors Switch Keys low travel keys colour coded for 160 DaVinci Resolve shortcuts. The keyboard has 5 levels of always on backlighting (when USB powered) with every key fully illuminated, not just in outline, and bright enough to stand out in even the brightest environment. Along the top above the keys are tiny but bright LEDs for USB operation, Bluetooth operation, charging, function key lock, and caps lock. On the rear edge are the tiny and hard to operation power on/off slider, USB-C port and what seems to be an infrared port.

It is too involved to go into here but basically the main keys are all colour coded with preset DaVinci Resolve shortcuts along with additional keys for brightness control and operating mode selection. All the standard Mac keys are included along with shortcuts to access common Mac keyboard operations. The function key can be locked to allow these to be accessed with a single key press.

Are there problems with it?
The keyboard is rather complicated and there is certainly a learning curve to get the best from it.
Due to the many markings on each key, it can be tricky at first tom use it for general typing, you have to allow muscle memory to do the work.
There are no rear legs and no way to adjust the angle of the keyboard to the desk, it just lays flat.
An excellent guide to the shaprtcuts can be downloaded from the Locickeys website (https://logickeyboard.com/shortcut/RES162019.pdf) but this should really have been included in the box.
I have experienced some Bluetooth issues with my Mac Mini M4 and just for peace of mind now always use the keyboard wire connected.

I have now obtained the BlackMagic Speed Editor Keyboard which features many of the shortcuts found here built in. Nevertheless I still use this keyboard daily for editing and general use. If you are a regular DaVinci Design user then this would be a very decent buy and may well go some way to making your life easier.
