The Most Successful Hacker of All Time

The most damaging computer virus of all time just turned 21 years old, but the creator is still not caught.

So in 2004 people around the world received the same random email. "Andy, I'm just doing my job, nothing personal, sorry". But attached to it was a file,
which if opened started a sequence of attacks.

First, the virus blocks popular antivirus sites to prevent the user from removing it. Now it is free to resend itself to all email addresses stored locally, like in address books. But other than that, it doesn't actually attack the host computer.

It instead scheduled an attack against the controversial company SCO group. But here's what's crazy. The backdoor that virus opened up lead to $55 billion in damages.

So you'd think governments and business would be willing to pay a lot to catch the criminal that made it. Cuz even to this day, Mydoom still holds the record for fastest spreading email worm. But the only bounty for identifying the creator, is $250,000.
