Feeling Safe and Satisfied Can Be a Dangerous Place to Live (Numbers 31-32)

As we near the end of our study of the Book of Numbers, our Scripture reading covers Numbers 31-32. Moses, having been informed that his death was imminent, was commanded to lead Israel into battle against the Midianites before he died.
In Numbers 32, the tribes of Gad, Reuben, and the half-tribe of Manasseh requested land on the east side of the Jordan River rather than in the Promised Land.
