Leviticus 27

Making vows was to be permanent, but to end the book of Leviticus, God gave people a way out of vows that maybe they didn't make. If you vowed animals or crops, breaking that would cost you a 5th, or 20%.

For tithes, and the vows, it was important for the people to realize that everything they had was God's in the first place. Firstborns and 10% were to be set apart for God.

How can we do better today, giving tithes to God, as a way to remember that God owns everything that we have?
