No Degree, No Problem: Uncle Hollywood’s 5-Year Success Story in Vietnam 🇻🇳

Today, we hang out with our good friend and longtime client, Uncle Hollywood, one of our earliest success stories in Vietnam! Uncle Hollywood comes down to Vung Tau — Saigon’s closest beach town (sometimes called "Saigon’s Coney Island") — to check out our new condo, rooftop pool, and sauna.

We spend the day catching up, exploring Vung Tau, grabbing some amazing seafood, and enjoying coconut coffee and egg coffee — both for Uncle Hollywood’s first time! Along the way, he shares his story about teaching English in Vietnam without a degree, how he built a life here, and how he’s now married to a local and working legally on a long-term exemption.

We first helped Uncle Hollywood find his first teaching job in Vietnam years ago, and we’ve stayed friends ever since. Now, he’s living proof that it’s possible to make it work without a degree if you find the right people and opportunities.
