6 Background to Evolution

Evolution from ancient Greece to the present. In this episode we look at primitive evolution stories, Darwin's theory which gained huge popularity but relied on a deeply flawed model of genetics, Gregor Mendel's discoveries which pointed to a more realistic, testable and successful idea of genetics which explains variation within a kind - and the Neo-Darwinian synthesis which is popularly called "the theory of evolution".
