"This Tax Day our message is clear: make the billionaires pay! We know that we need a complete reupholstering of society. We can no longer live in a world where a tiny group of billionaires can take over our lives! We demand that we fund people’s needs here in this country and not war and genocide!

Today, we made it clear that we will not stay silent as the US & Israel facilitate the genocide in Palestine with our tax dollars. It is up to us to fight back and build the movement against this billionaire takeover which seeks to line the pockets of the few over the needs of millions of working class people! We know that in order for justice to prevail it will take all of us standing in solidarity against this system! Will you join us?

ON TAX DAY, WE SAY: FUND PEOPLE’S NEEDS NOT THE WAR MACHINE! While the billionaires in the White House slash the programs that actually serve working class people, they push forward corporate hand-outs and propose record-breaking military budgets. They continue to use our hard-earned tax dollars to pay for their wars and the genocide in Palestine.

Enough is enough! Today on Tax Day, New Yorkers joined hands to demand an end to this system that serves only the wealthiest elite. Fund the people’s needs and make the billionaires pay!" organizers said on their Instagram accounts, on April 15, 2025.

"THIS TUESDAY (April 15, 2025) IS TAX DAY and we will raise our voices to demand an end to the billionaires’ coup—join us! Musk and Trump are slashing all the programs our tax dollars are supposed pay for that help working people survive. And at the very same time The White House is pushing forward a record-breaking military budget and preparing to give the ultra-rich and corporations another historic round of massive tax cuts.

If the wealth that the billionaire class has hoarded were to be put to use for the common good, the crises facing working people could be solved immediately. Billionaires control approximately $6.7 trillion — a 90% wealth tax could guarantee universal healthcare, free college education, eliminate hunger & homelessness, and so much more.

INSTEAD, the tax dollars that they squeeze out of working people are used to pay for war, genocide in Gaza, and mass deportations.

Make the billionaires pay! Join the tax day protest and fight back!" the organizers said before the demonstration.
