Exodus Part 11 April 27 2025

This lesson begins the discussion of the plagues, as interpreted through the framework of them being God undoing creation in each one. First, we discuss the weighing of the heart, which has both historical context in Egyptian theology, and in biblical references as well. The first plague turns water into blood, thus reversing the separating of the waters in Genesis 1. We explored the meaning of the terms used in the plague narrative, particularly the Hebrew term miqveh.
