The title for this episode was taken from the song Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone? Written by Septimus Winner in 1864. The song's lyrics were set to a German folk tune, "In Lauterbach hab' ich mein' Strumpf verlor'n". It has since become a famous nursery rhyme for children all over the world.
