Visceral fat is located inside the belly wrapped around organs.
Visceral fat secretes a hormone known as PAI-1 (plamonogen activator inblhibitor-1). This hormone blocks TPA (tissue plaminogen activator). If you block TPA, blood clots hang around longer and can lead to MI and stroke.
The more Visceral fat, the more PAI-1 and the greater chance for blood clots.
