Joint hosts Siir SteveO & Kim Cooper sit down with Dan Borchardt & Joy Davies in BC on NOK Network

Dan Borchardt is the founder & Cannabis substitution program in BC. A warrior for the cause, Highzenherbs Dan Borchardt is described as a passionate activist, having two disabled brothers who both use cannabis to manage their symptoms. Dan started his company under the brand name HighZenHerb back in 2014
Dan has seen the results utilizing this plant as a medicine, and backing the concept that high dose edibles not only get people off of hard drugs. he personally witnessed over a half dozen individuals successfully treated using cannabis to replace opioids. He had followed the amazing efforts made by Neil Magnuson from the Vancouver Substitution Program and admired the work being done there. So, he formed a team, created products, canvassed for donations and started an arm of the Cannabis Substitution Program in a new location in BC to reach even more people in need.

Joy Davies is a pioneering medical cannabis patient, adult educator, and entrepreneur with over four decades of political and advocacy experience. Since 1984, Joy has served as a municipal elected official and contributed to numerous government and non-governmental committees, including the BC Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Eastside Economic Development Society, and Women in Film and Video Vancouver. Joy has held leadership roles in economic development across British Columbia, chairing committees in two municipalities and serving as President of the Tumbler Ridge Chamber of Commerce. She was also a federal Liberal candidate in the 2015 election for South Surrey–White Rock and was recognized nationally in 2018 as a finalist in the “Power of Ten Cannabis Politician” poll. Now based in Ladysmith, BC, Joy continues her work as a cannabis consultant, keynote speaker, and moderator at national cannabis conferences—championing compassionate, evidence-based reform in Canada’s medical cannabis landscape.
