JUST IN: Merck Announces $1B Biologics Plant in Wilmington, Delaware

Merck plans to construct a new biologics manufacturing facility in Wilmington, Delaware, marking its first U.S.-based site to produce the top-selling cancer drug Keytruda, along with other biologic therapies, the company revealed.

Last week, Merck noted that Keytruda faces significant tariff exposure but maintains sufficient U.S. stock for 2025. The company projects an additional $200 million in costs due to current tariffs.

The facility is expected to generate at least 500 permanent jobs and approximately 4,000 construction positions, according to Merck.
