State Rep. Grasse Offers Secular Invocation

At the opening of today's session for the Illinois House in Springfield, just one day before the National Day of Prayer, State Representative Nicolle Grasse (D-Arlington Heights) was called upon to give the opening prayer.

Instead of humbly seeking God's help, wisdom and direction, Representative Grasse decided to lead the assembled officials in a moment of irreverence.

Yes, Representative Grasse asked her colleagues to join her in a hum. Yes, a hum.
