“You Will Pay...” US Lambasts Iran As Defiant Houthis Say They Downed F/A-18 Jet In Red Sea | CLRCUT

US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth warned Iran on April 30 of significant consequences for its lethal support of the Houthi rebel group, following recent tensions. Hegseth’s comments came after a Houthi-operated drone caused an F-18 jet to fall off the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier. The US has conducted over 1,000 airstrikes against Houthi positions since mid-March as part of ‘Operation Rough Rider’. Meanwhile, the Houthis claimed responsibility for downing an F-18 jet in a strike targeting the carrier. Tensions are escalating as the Houthis continue to target international shipping and Israeli military sites.
