Some say fine-tuning could just be a fluke, like seeing Jesus in a burnt piece of toast. Goff uses that exact example to show that some coincidences really are just chance.

But when the odds are astronomically low, like finding thousands of toasts with Jesus’ face, you stop believing it’s a coincidence. Likewise, brushing off the fine-tuning of the universe as “just chance” isn’t brave—it’s irrational.
