Drone Filming Mishaps 🇹🇼 (2024-06)

Issue: Forgetting to turn on the drone camera
Result: The footage is not being recorded and saved on the drone's memory

First example:
Filming and live streaming at a public event (topping-out ceremony of a new temple building)
Contributing stress factors:
►Surprisingly poor mobile network performance (concerns regarding live stream quality)
►Right timing of the flight (available drone flying time vs. beam hoisting/placing duration)
►Distraction from passers-by
Lesson learned:
►Be focused and minimize distractions during filming

Second example:
Filming the arrival of a cruise ship at Port of Kaohsiung
Reconnaissance flight:
►camera settings
►flight path
►considering CAA, port authority and local government restrictions
Actually recorded footage was the reconnaissance flight and the last part of the intended actual coverage.
Causes:
►Rush to arrive at site
►No-fly zones
Lesson learned:
►Avoid distractions
►Consider preparing a pre-flight checklist
