Thermal Signature Reduction - Wool Cloak

This video is some initial testing on a wool cloak I bought for thermal signature reduction. Ambient was about 52F, overcast, light misting rain. It had been raining for most of the previous night and conditions for thermal were ideal with a cool and consistent background.

You can see from the initial views at 50 yards that the cloak covers my body and my head from the rear, but not my face, lower arms, hands, or lower legs. The cloak is also warm enough to trigger the red hot easily at short range on the Rix.

However, as the range increases the red-hot highlights drop off, and the signature is muddied due to the lower outgoing thermal - despite the warm areas where the cloak sits on my shoulders showing through.

Overall the effect is pretty noticeable, much more than I thought. Next step is to figure out a way to get some stand-off distance on my shoulders and lower the signature further.
