SERCO Asylum Seekers in Stratford

We visit the Grosvenor Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon — the legendary town tied to Shakespeare, or maybe Francis Bacon, Edward de Vere, or a secret round table of writers… depending who you ask.

This Grade II listed building with around 76 rooms was taken over by Brightstar Hospitality in 2021. Since then, it’s been under a Home Office contract with Serco, quietly housing migrants, asylum seekers and refugees part of a programme that’s now been running for almost 5 years.

We gained entry to the grounds via the car park, where we were confronted by a black man claiming to be a security guard. As seen in the footage, he got quite hands-on. Police were called, and nearly arrested Truth Hurts for fraud — simply for having an official Serco landlord draft agreement on his clipboard.
