泡湯是不少人赴日旅行的標配行程,而日本人偏好高溫泡湯,常選擇攝氏41至42度的熱湯,對多數人來說幾乎燙得難以忍受。對此,台灣減重醫師蕭捷健表示,這樣的泡湯方式不只是為了放鬆,更有助於啟動體內名為「熱休克蛋白(HSPs)」的關鍵機制,能提升免疫力、降低失智風險。
蕭捷健指出,當人體經由短時間(約10至15分鐘)的高溫泡湯,使核心體溫上升至接近38度時,會如同輕微發燒般,啟動熱休克蛋白的反應。HSPs在高溫壓力下會被喚醒,能修復受損蛋白質、保護細胞,進而提升身體對病毒與細菌的抵抗力。
蕭捷健補充,芬蘭曾有研究發現,經常使用三溫暖的人,其心血管疾病風險下降近50%,失智風險也減少約66%。這些益處並非單次泡湯即可達成,而是需要長期規律執行,才能見到顯著效果。
蕭捷健提醒,高溫泡湯並非人人適合。長者、患有心臟病、高血壓、糖尿病者及孕婦應避免嘗試,以免造成身體過度負擔。他建議,對一般人而言,選擇40°C以下的溫泉同樣具有放鬆與調節交感神經的效果,是更安全且可持續的健康習慣。
