Once Saved Always Saved

Depending on what someone means about this when this phrase comes up I confess that I do indeed believe it. But like with many phrases and ideas, it depends on what someone means by it. Is it biblical to believe what’s been called, “The Preservation of the Saints” or “Perseverance of the saints”? All of Baptist confessional history says that this is a truth we should proclaim Christians. I think they’re right to say it, but I may be biased. I believe that all true believers will endure in Christ to the end, preserved in their salvation by God himself as part of the promise of the New Covenant in Christ itself. What do you say? Today, in this class I will offer a brief guest lecture sharing a message about why I believe that it’s clear from Scripture that the saints of God will always persevere in faith to the end. I pray it’s an encouragement to you to consider the truly amazing and saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.
