Share my artistic journey with everyone! In my pastel and charcoal drawings, I usually love to kick things off with a solid foundation using my trusty charcoal set of 24. It’s where I sketch out the outlines and base layers that set the first stage for my creativity!
When it comes to adding those vibrant middle layers, I dive into the magical world of Soft Pastels set-72 from the BLOCKX brand. Oh, the joy they bring! They fill my work with life and energy, allowing me to create stunning shadows and thick and deep effects. Honestly, there's nothing quite like blending and smoothing with my fingers—it feels like pure magic! 😁 ✨💥
For those intricate details and finishing touches like creating skin, pores, hair, eyes, nose, eyebrows, lips, etc, that truly make my pieces shine, I reach for my treasured Pitt pastel pencils from the fabulous Faber-Castell 21-set Monochrome B&W collection, along with the soft white pencil for those gorgeous highlights, bright and vibrant that make my B&W drawings jump off the page.
My canvas of choice? The wonderfully special Pastelist Paper or Pastelmat Paper (Sandy Paper) from Clairefontaine brand! It’s just perfect with a soft sandy texture on a paper surface for working with charcoal and pastel drawings, keeping everything neat and allowing my colors to adhere, stick, anti-smudging, and absorb beautifully and perfectly.
