Kenny Aronoff is one of the most iconic and in-demand rock drummers in the world. Born on March 7, 1953, in Albany, New York, Aronoff rose to fame as the powerhouse drummer for John Mellencamp, joining his band in 1980 and playing on hits like Jack & Diane, Hurts So Good, and Pink Houses. His hard-hitting, precision style helped define the heartland rock sound of the '80s.

A classically trained percussionist with a degree from Indiana University, Aronoff has built a reputation for his versatility, stamina, and intense work ethic. Over the decades, he has recorded and toured with a staggering array of artists across genres—including Bob Dylan, Elton John, The Smashing Pumpkins, Jon Bon Jovi, Melissa Etheridge, and Willie Nelson, to name a few.

Outside of performance, Aronoff is also a sought-after session drummer, motivational speaker, and author of the book Sex, Drums, Rock 'n' Roll! The Hardest Hitting Man in Show Business.
