SO FAR: This morning we heard testimony from Ryan Nagle, and Heather Maxim who pulled up to the Albert house while Karen sat in the car in front of them and the dome lighe came on in Karen's car. Weather conditions were just the start of snow. We also heard from Sarah Levinson who was attending a party gathering for Brian Albert Jr.'s birthday. She did not see John O'Keefe come in or anything strange in the house. She did not see John on the lawn when she left. She also indicated the conversation with Jen McCabe about peanut butter sandwiches was before they pulled out of the Albert driveway and NOT while they were driving past the area where O'Keefe's body was later found.

We also heard from Canton paramedic Katie McLaughlin who arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance to the victim at the scene. She alleged that Karen admitted "I hit him" a total of four times and had to be calmed down by Jen McCabe. On Cross Alan Jackson attacked her that in the video it appears that McCabe was the one who was animated not the defendant. He also attacked her for underplaying the nature of her pwersonal relationship with Brian Albert's daughter, Kaitlyn Albert.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Additional State witnesses.

WHAT IT'S ABOUT:
During a long and widely watched trial last year, Karen Read was prosecuted for murder in the 2022 death of her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe. Allegedly a victim of hitting him with her vehicle. Read is charged with Intentional Murder, Vehicular Manslaughter (Accidental) and Leaving the scene of a "hit and run."

The trial, which included allegations of police misconduct and of a wide-ranging conspiracy among law enforcement officers to frame Read in the killing, ended in a hung jury.

BACKGROUND:
O’Keefe, 46, had been a police officer for 16 years. He was found unresponsive on a snowy January morning outside the suburban home of Brian Albert, a now-retired Boston police sergeant.

O’Keefe was pronounced dead shortly after, and the medical examiner attributed the cause to blunt force trauma to the head and hypothermia. Read, then an equity analyst who had been dating O’Keefe for two years, was arrested in connection with his death days later.
