Went through the motions: repairs, scavenging, keeping the system alive. But something shifted, like the ocean was holding its breath. Swam into a cave, its walls shining like a sky full of stars, and for a moment, I wasn’t just a diver. UniTrench’s scars, the dead reefs, the oil, they all stared me down. But the sea’s beauty stared back harder. Tim’s voice faded to static, leaving me alone with my thoughts. My past, my choices, everything I’ve been running from hit me like a wave. The ocean’s been my mirror, forcing me to see what I’ve avoided. I made a choice down there. The North Sea’s voice will never leave me. It wasn’t just a job. It was a reckoning.
