(A Study on Christian Maturity)

Text: James 1

Intro:
Hebrews 5:12-14
"of full age", "have their senses exercised"
Maturity is not optional

Points to Maturity.
1. Identifies himself aright - v. 1 - servant of God
2. Knowledge of things that matter most - v. 3 - "knowing this"
temptations / trials produce patience
patience produces maturity
not just a product - "perfect work"
3. Humble enough to ask for wisdom - vv. 5, 6
- ask in faith
- not wavering - people prefers those who trust them.
- from the right source, i.e. God - also vv. 16-18
4. Single minded - determined, resolved - v.8
5. Justice - no respecter of persons - vv. 9-11
6. Triumphs over temptations - vv.12-15
what temptation is
and what it is not
7. Excels in moderation, especially in speech.
"receive with meekness the engrafted word"
8. Do, practice what was learned - vv. 22-25
"looketh into" "perfect law of liberty"
9. Aware but avoids pitfalls
signs of immaturity. - vv. 26-27

Message/conclusion:
We can be matured.
Let's go on unto maturity.
