Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a 2011 crossover fighting game developed by Capcom in collaboration with Eighting, serving as an enhanced update to Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Released initially for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with later ports to PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows, the game features characters from Capcom’s video game franchises (like Street Fighter and Resident Evil) and Marvel Comics’ iconic roster (such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Iron Man). It builds on the foundation of its predecessor by introducing new characters, refined gameplay mechanics, and aesthetic improvements, all while maintaining the fast-paced, team-based combat that defines the series.

The game allows players to select a team of three characters to engage in battles, aiming to defeat opponents through a mix of aerial combat, ground attacks, and special moves. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 expands the roster to 50 characters, adding 12 new fighters like Ghost Rider, Hawkeye, Vergil, and Phoenix Wright, alongside tweaks to the X-Factor system, which now can be activated in the air for enhanced speed and attack boosts (Web ID: 0). It also introduces new stages and a refined online experience with the "Heroes and Heralds" mode, where players can customize abilities using virtual cards. Despite critical praise for its expanded roster and improved netcode, the game faced criticism for lacking new modes and features beyond the update, earning generally positive reviews (Web ID: 0). A sequel, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, followed in 2017, but Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 remains a fan-favorite entry in the series for its chaotic, accessible fun and vibrant crossover appeal.
