Kelly Oldford and Jamie McHale discuss with Eileen Tesch the topic of homeschooling and why they prefer to educate their children at home.

Kelly Oldford is a local mom of three, wife, and attorney. She lives in St. Clair with her family and started educating her daughter at home at about two years old. It was then she discovered her passion for education.

That passion bloomed from preschool playgroups hosted in her basement into Huron Academic Endeavors today.

Kelly loves being with her kids- traveling with them, road trips, going up north, fishing, hiking and spending any other time she can outdoors. Kelly also enjoys traveling with her husband and reading. And HAE keeps her busy as well, where she works as the Operations Director. Kelly handles office and building maintenance, human resources, marketing, and fundraising for all HAE programming.

Jamie McHale is a mother to six wonderful children and has been a dedicated homeschool educator for 18 years. She has devoted her life to shaping strong minds and kind hearts.

With a background as a child mental health therapy, Jamie is deeply passionate about nurturing children's emotional well-being and providing a meaningful, empowering education that helps them thrive both personally and academically.

She owns Meloira Therapy Center, in Fort Gratiot, Michigan.
